Privacy Policy for Videohub Remote
Effective date: 2026-06-17
This Privacy Policy applies to the Android app Videohub Remote with the package name tv.mindstudio.videohubremote.
Videohub Remote is an app for controlling professional video equipment, including Blackmagic Design Videohub routers, MultiView devices, and ATEM devices, over a local network.
Summary
Videohub Remote does not collect, store, sell, share, or transmit personal data to the developer or to external internet servers.
The app is designed to communicate only with video devices selected or configured by the user on the same local network or another network reachable from the user’s device.
Data Collection
Videohub Remote does not collect any personal or sensitive user data.
The app does not collect:
- Names
- Email addresses
- Phone numbers
- Contacts
- Photos or videos
- Location data
- Device identifiers for tracking
- Advertising identifiers
- Usage analytics
- Crash reports
- Diagnostic reports
- Payment information
- Account information
The app does not use analytics, advertising, tracking, or crash reporting services.
Network Communication
Videohub Remote connects to video hardware such as Blackmagic Design Videohub routers, MultiView devices, and ATEM devices using TCP connections.
These connections are initiated by the user or based on device settings configured by the user inside the app.
Network communication is used only for the app’s core functionality:
- Connecting to supported video devices
- Reading device state
- Sending user-requested control commands
- Updating the app interface based on device responses
The app does not send this network communication to the developer, to third-party servers, or to external analytics services.
Depending on the user’s network configuration, the target device may be located on the same local area network, a private VPN, or another network address entered by the user. The app does not independently discover, access, or control unrelated devices beyond its intended device-control functionality.
Local Data Storage
Videohub Remote may store app settings locally on the user’s Android device.
This may include information such as:
- Manually entered device IP addresses or hostnames
- Device names or labels
- Connection settings
- User interface preferences
This information is stored only on the user’s device and is not transmitted to the developer or to external servers.
Users can delete locally stored app data by clearing the app’s storage in Android system settings or by uninstalling the app.
Data Sharing
Videohub Remote does not share user data with the developer, third parties, advertisers, analytics providers, or external services.
Because the app does not collect personal data, there is no personal data to sell, rent, or share.
Internet Access
Videohub Remote may request network access because it needs to communicate with video devices over TCP.
This network access is used only for device-control functionality.
The app does not connect to external internet servers operated by the developer, does not upload user data, and does not download or install additional executable code.
Device and Network Safety
Videohub Remote is intended only to control supported video routing and video production devices configured by the user.
The app does not:
- Interfere with the user’s Android device
- Modify system settings without user action
- Access unrelated devices without user configuration
- Attempt unauthorized access to networks or services
- Download or install apps or executable code
- Circumvent Android security protections
- Use the device or network for abusive, deceptive, or harmful behavior
Commands are sent only as part of the app’s normal device-control functionality.
Users are responsible for ensuring that they are authorized to control the video devices they configure in the app.
Accuracy and Transparency
Videohub Remote is presented as a remote-control app for compatible video hardware.
The app does not impersonate another app, service, operating system component, or official Blackmagic Design product.
Blackmagic Design, Videohub, MultiView, and ATEM are trademarks or product names of their respective owners. Videohub Remote is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or sponsored by Blackmagic Design unless explicitly stated elsewhere by the developer.
Children
Videohub Remote is not directed to children and does not knowingly collect personal data from children.
Data Retention and Deletion
Videohub Remote does not collect or retain personal data on external servers.
Locally stored settings remain on the user’s device until the user deletes them, clears the app’s storage, or uninstalls the app.
Security
Videohub Remote does not transmit personal data to the developer or to third-party servers.
Users should only connect the app to trusted devices and trusted networks. TCP communication with professional video hardware may depend on the security features provided by the target device and the user’s local network configuration.
Changes to This Privacy Policy
This Privacy Policy may be updated from time to time.
When changes are made, the updated Privacy Policy will be made available at the same location where this policy is published. The effective date at the top of this policy should be updated when changes are made.
